She's Alive!!!

Hahah, I cracked up when I read "Emily are you still alive??" I know I don't write on here nearly enough but some of us don't have that much excitement to write about I guess....

But I guess I'll write a few of my little stories from nannying because that kind of consumes my life. Well....just a few little funny things Owen has said.

The other day we were playing in the little park (playset) they have in their back yard and he started burying my feet. He told me we needed to bury them because my toes were monsters!! Mom and I had just gotten our toenails painted the day before, so I guess it didn't help much because he still thought they were monsters.

Another funny story was on the trampoline (we're ALWAYS on the trampoline) when we were sitting down and he looked at my legs and said "your legs are hairy!!"--I laughed for a few reasons. First of all, they WERE hairy because I kept getting rashes from shaving so I gave my legs a couple of days to heal before I cut them up again (and they're fine now!) and second of all, he's a boy and why should he know that women's legs are supposed to not have hair on them! He's only three!!(this is us doing airplanes because he loves them)

Another one. I always let him ride on my shoulders because he likes it, but he gets his opposites mixed up a lot so usually he will say "let me carry you on my shoulders" and sometimes I'll go along with what he ACTUALLY said rather than what he meant....so this happened yesterday and he just started saying: "I'm teeny, and you're big. I'm teeny and you have a big head. You're too big for me." I thought it was cute.

And the final story to update my life of nannying happened yesterday also when he was swimming. He couldn't understand why I couldn't come in the pool with him (just a little blow up pool). I told him that I didn't have my bathing suit. Then he said "come in! take off your shirt!"--ha! I don't think he realizes that it doesn't work the same way for women. I promised him I would bring my bathing suit next time but for this time I'd just have to get only my feet wet.

So that is that. I've been nannying a lot, playing with people from the ward a lot, and that's about it....trying to hang out with mom and dad one of these days, but it has been hard to schedule.

Emily! You look great!! That picture of you and Owen is so cute. We miss you like crazy here. You sound like you're having blast. Pedicures with your Momio, sweet sutff!

Just at BYU... I can't get anything done because they have closed everything for the devotional. Ah well.

Keep up the posts!

Heather had a recent quote that sounded something similar to what Owen would say. We got in our car one morning and headed to campus. I didn't notice anything different, but Heather said "I think a small animal or something broke into our car last night and peed in it."

Hey Hairy Legs,

Quite an observant kiddo that you nanny. You live here and we didn't even notice your hairy legs!
Glad to see you're still "with us"...adding some humor to our lives. Love, Dad
