This week I learned the best way to seed a pomegranate, and have been so excited about it ever since. I love pomegranates, especially at this time of year. So I thought I would share this little cooking tid bit with you. Many of you may already know this… but if you don’t I hope this helps you enjoy pomegranates more often.
1. Cut two large x’s on the top and bottom of the pomegranate (just deep enough that you get all the way through the skin)
2. Put the Pomegranate in a large bowl of cold water and let soak for 10 minutes.
3. Take apart the pomegranate. It should easily split apart, the X’s make it ideal to split into 1/3rds.
4. Carefully remove the seeds out from the pomegranate (while still in the water). By taking the seeds out in water it makes no mess, the seeds sink, the skin floats, and it is overall a lot easier to seed! It’s so easy to get the unwanted part of the pomegranate out!
I was amazed at how easy this was! I didn’t waste one seed from the pomegranate. I am going to buy those more often, now that I know I won’t make a mess.
Love you all,
Heather
