Another piece of artwork

Great news! I got my Art mid term back today and I got a B! Which for me - is like acing the test. I am not the best test taker.  I love our class lectures, but I don't spent much time doing the reading outside of class. So I am very happy with my performance.

Today we were talking about Impressionism in America. So interesting! I love impressionism, always have, and being able to see how Americans did it - sweet! In class we look at dozens of paintings everyday, every once and a while a painting comes up and I don't know why but sometimes I get struck with a lot of emotion when I see a certain painting. Today it was this one. His name is John Twachtman, he is probably one of the best Impressionist painters to come out of America.  I think this one is so neat because typically paintings like this use much brighter colors to bring out the depth of the painting, but his uses really light colors. It also isn't painted with a lot of sunlight... different. It reminds me of one of Whistlers paintings, a symphony in white. Just thought I'd share. Off to class once again. Hope everyone is having a great day! I walked to the health center. I am filled with steroids and antibiotics, it's a beautiful thing!

Nice painting. I'd say this guy was bold to take so many 'dull' colors and produce something great.
I'm sure the texture on this makes it so much better. That's one of the thins i really like about painting...texture.
