I love. love. love. the summertime!!! It's just such a HAPPY time!! This past weekend was one of my favorite summer weekends so far.
Here's why: Friday night: we had a sleepover with dad! I got to spend time with my 2 favorite boys...my dad & my hubby! We met dad for chinese (which was delish) - and then went to this awesome putt-putt (slash sculpture garden) place which was SO much fun! It was one of the coolest places! Every hole had a different "sculpture" & it was really artsy & unique. There was also an actual sculpture garden area...and mini-horses (and regular horses), which we fed...and some goats (which I stayed FAR away from!)...and a bonfire...and a giant marble checkerboard....and some sort of silly "alice-in-wonderland" sort-of table...this place is CRAZY!!!! It was a blast. I lost by a LOT....but did manage a hole-in-one on the last hole (yes...if you're wondering, I HAVE had a hole-in-one in each game of mini-golf this summer so far, thank you kindly!!)...but, I still came in last. Nate won. Dad was 3 strokes behind him....and I was 7 strokes behind dad (I had some trouble with my short-game...which, in mini-golf is very bad!). It was great! Then, on Saturday, we woke up bright & early to go watch dad participate in a triathalon - he did a great job & it was really fun to watch him! I love watching family members participate in these events! It just makes me so proud! He finished strong (see photos above), and looked great! We then had breakfast together (mmmm...I looooove going out for a late-saturday-morning-breakfast!). While at breakfast, dad piped up and said, "well, I was thinking...maybe we could go get pedicures...." Of course I was 'in' - Nate....wasn't. But he said he'd stand by & watch us....well, 15 minutes later, we were at the nail salon & sure enough, the little nail-technician talked Nate into his first-ever pedicure!!! I must say - she did a great job on nate's toenails!! It was so fun! I was just giggling to myself- sitting with my dad & hubby getting pedicures!!!! Fantastic!
Saturday afternoon, Nate & I went to see Harry Potter (which I LOVED!!!!!!). After church on Sunday, Nate & I went on our longest bikeride yet...we biked to the Minnesota Arboretum (beautiful!!!!) and rode the "3-mile loop" there....stopped & walked around the gardens...found a perfect spot for a future picnic...it was incredible! It was beautiful weather & a wonderful way to spend a peaceful Sunday afternoon in the sunshine. Later we went to Excelsior and walked around the beach with icecream cones... It was a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!!!!!!! I'm lucky to have such a great husband & dad. I feel blessed to have such incredible people in my life who make me so happy!! Thanks for the great weekend!!

sounds like such a fun weekend! and that mini golf place looks so sweet! lets go sometime!
Great pics! That golf course does look like fun. Good to see that Peter and Nate got to tap into their more sensitive side during their pedicures.
I think we were the only "guys" in the pedicure place. Nate and I are both blessed with runners' feet--no modeling contracts coming this way; so, the Vietnamese (me thinks) did us some good. Mark your calendars now...next time in Minnesota--you've got to visit the ultra cool sculture garden/mini golf center (the owners are no longer starving artists...just a bit hungry). Thanks for the post, Leanna
sounds like a fabulous weekend! nothing wrong with nice feet.

i have to say my favorite part was leanna saying "thank you kindly" haha...since when are you 87??
