Be Ready!

I hope this post doesn't disrupt anyone's celebrating Mark's birthday, but the blog has been a little slow. I'm going to try to post something on the family blog a little more regularly. I don't have anything to post right now, except that I just got back from the gym and heard one of the gentlemen at SportsCenter announce the following: "coming up next, we take an in-depth look at game 3 of the NBA Finals and get you ready for the big game - don't miss it!"

If any of you sports fans will be watching the game tonight, don't (whatever you do) watch it unprepared. Tivo it if you have to, but from the sounds of what I heard on SportsCenter, you'll have no idea what is going on unless you watch their report. You may have watched basketball for years, perhaps even played, but unless you've seen them break down why Ray Allen hitting 8 3 pointers is a good thing for Boston, or why Gasol needs to get rebounds for LA to win...you might as well be watching Olympic curling (where none of us has any idea what the heck is going on).

If anyone reads this post and has the time to sit down in front of their TV before the game and be tutored by SportsCenter, by all means, watch the game. You're prepared and you've earned it! Since you will obviousely know what's going on, feel free to text me updates (we don't get the NBA Finals on our TV). Scores only, please - I'm not going to have time to watch SportsCenter beforehand.

Ten days seems to be about right for a birthday celebration...especially those that fall in September. I think you could extend the celebration a bit longer, but the rule should be, if you want to celebrate more than a weekend, you have to prepare and eat a birthday cake each day. Most of us would call it quits on Monday morning. Okay, on to your sports commentary. I was unprepared and still watched some of the game. Yes, I did so with the sound off. So, not only can I live without sports center...but I can live without the play by play (yes, we can see what's going on without color commentary. Live mics are interesting, but the rest is just noise...interupting a good reading of the Sierra Club news. Thanks for the post, Ryan. Here's a sports center preview...the Celtics have their backs to the wall and they're in a must win situation--they need a big game from their veterans! There you have it. Blah, blah, blah.

gotta love the bench's performance last night! oh, the celtics! I loooove watching them when they're playing strong!!!! I love little Nate Robinson...that little man is quite the athlete!!!!

funniest headline I saw today about last night's game:

"Big Baby drools and the rest of the bench rules!" I was thinking of maybe posting a photo of big baby's drooling/slobbering/animal-ish roar! that was a little craaazy...and nasty! but, anyone who missed it can google "big baby celtics drool" and you'll find some great pics!

I can't wait till Sunday's game.
