So, do you want to know one of my pet peeves? It is that major league baseball starts on April 1st. Baseball, yes--that great American summer sport! In the big leagues it is a summer sport that begins while there is still snow on the ground in the northern climates! (This picture wasn't taken this week and we don't have that much snow on the ground--but we have plenty of snow and at least a foot of ice on the lake.) So, here's my reaction to all of this--I almost pray for bad weather during April baseball games--teach Bud Selig (a UW grad) and the owners a lesson. Of course, it won't matter how much snow we get this April or in the future--the bean counters will continue to push for a long season--isn't 162 regular season games long enough?? Oh, now that you got me going... I was really bothered to see pre-season baseball on TV. Really, those games are the epitome of non-events.
True confession: I am not a big baseball fan--but still find this April baseball to be appaulling.
