Our engagement!!!!!!!!

I'm marrying my BEST friend!!!!! Most of you already know the story...but I thought you'd enjoy some of the pictures from the weekend.

It was the happiest weekend I've ever had. I loved it. I am so excited to be marrying my best friend. Nate is wonderful & I am a very, very lucky girl...he makes me so happy!! It was great spending time with the family for Thanksgiving...I want to go back NOW!!!!

Here are a couple highlights from the weekend:

1. the PROPOSAL!!!!!! It was ADORABLE!!!!!! It was so much fun & cute & sweet & exciting...I loved how creative it was...and I LOVE my ring!! Its gorgeous! Nate was so cute...and I've been smiling about it ever since!

2. Thanksgiving...it is one of my favorite holidays. I love reflecting on all the things I am grateful for in my life...this year was (obviously) even more exciting & I am very grateful for all the happiness I experience in life. I feel very blessed to experience so much joy in my life. It was great to be with mom & dad & Em & nate & the grandparents & the millers...we really have a wonderful family & it makes me really happy to spend time with them!!

3. the Turkey Trot!!!!!!! It was pretty chilly at first...but it was super fun to run it with N & E & dad. It still amazes me how many people run that race! Its incredible! Such a great Thanksgiving morning tradition...I plan on running that every year with the family!!

4. Mom's yummy Thanksgiving dinner...mom did a GREAT job at feeding all of us...dinner was excellent...and the mashed potatoes were even better!!! I still think its hilarious that dad ate so much pumpkin pie!!!!! Poor mom, never got a piece...I think he ate 3 pieces in a row on Thursday night!!! HA!

5. Cuddling up by the fireplace Sunday afternoon...I loved laying by the fireplace with my fiance...cuddling by a fire is one of my FAVORITE things in life!! Best nap ever!!

6. Trying on wedding dresses...it was great spending the morning with mom & emily...I loved trying on the dresses & mostly, I loved sharing that time with you...I cant wait to find the perfect dress!!

7. Sitting courtside at the basketball game was really exciting!!! I love watching sports with Nate...cant wait to watch many more BADGER football games, TWINS baseball games (at the new stadium!! YAY!!) , TWOLVES basketball games...so much fun!!!!

8. DESTA!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA!!!! Maybe one of the funniest moments of the weekend...

9. Saturday night was one of my favorite nights!!!! THE HOLLIDAZZZZZLE!!!!! I love that parade!! Its one of my favorite holiday family traditions. I think its so much fun!! It was great seeing Antonio & I loved drinking hot chocolate, hanging out with the family...Dinner at 112 was incredible!!!!!!!! MMMMMM.....I'm already craving those scallops!!!!! Nate looked so cute that night too!!! Its really fun being in love!

10. Scrabble by the fire with N & Em, Mom being silly: "HALFTIME!!!!!!" (HAHAHA!!!), watching mom play her brain-age game, going on a walk with dad (FREEEEZIN!!!...but very nice...still one of my favorite things), watching BOLT with the family!! (so cute!), and much, much more...

Thanks, mom & dad for making the weekend so enjoyable. I wish I could have spent much, much more time with you...soon enough I'll be home in MN & will share many more fun memories together!!! I love you, Nate. I am so excited to be engaged to you. The proposal was adorable & the ring is incredible...but the best part about it is that we are getting married. You are my very best friend & I am so in love with you. You make me the happiest girl!!

Love you all!!! Cant wait for Christmas to come!!

She said YES!!! I have been waiting to hear those words come out of her mouth for a long time. The best weekend of my life!! I love thinking about the fourth of July weekend falling for Leanna all over again. Its funny to think that just over a year ago I thought I was losing the girl of my dreams, and now here we are planning our wedding together. Words can't explain how in love I am and how lucky I feel to have her in my life forever.
Leanna you are the most beautiful person I have ever met, inside and out. I am incredibly in love with you!! I have been for the last three years and I will be for the rest of my life!

Oohh that was a great post and a great comment by Nate! I am so happy for you two! You're great together & I'm excited for our future together.

Seeing you in wedding dresses was such a great experience. It was a lot more emotional than I though it would be...I am so excited to see what you end up with!

Sounds like a great engagement! Congratulations to both of you - it's great that you had your camera along for the night - you'll have those pictures forever. Nate should somehow figure out how to fly out to Utah for New Year's. We haven't seen him in awhile. Holidazzle parade looked very cold. See you both at New Year's?

Leanna and Nate--

Of course, this was old news for us--who got to experience most of your weekend first-hand! It was great having you home. More importantly, we're thrilled with your engagement and look forward to your marriage! You both deserve the best! Much love, Dad

Three pieces of pie...did that a couple of times. I love pumpkin pie. The only real downside was getting busted by Mom...she was not very happy with me when the pie was gone--and she didn't get any. I made abundant restitution, though, baking my first pumpkin pie on Tuesday night--all for mom!

Dad
(p.s.pumpkin pie is a healthy thing...you know...fruits and vegatables!).

Desta was the man in the toll booth who laughed at me when my poor Honda unexpectedly died. It was by far the worst yet funniest part of the weekend.

haha. I only got one piece of pie...where is my homemade pie, dad?

Emily,

Here's the deal...now that my confidence level is up...we'll do another pumpkin pie on New Year's eve...in UT.

Dad (p.s. for the record, there was pie in the house until Saturday afternoon...everyone had a fair shot at the pie--we can't expect to slow everything down for you slackers.)

Leanna,

What...no pictures of the ring?

Dad

p.s. My vote goes to putting the Ronald McDonald glasses back on the blog--not that the french dude isn't stylish--but how can you beat RMcD shades?

Leanna said...

...and the shades are back...

Thanks Mark and Lib for that sweet pic for Ry. I figured that was you two. I am so proud of him. He is going to do so well. I never fathomed such hard work was possible. I've had the opportunity to study the test with Ry, it's amazing how he's taught his brain to think. He's going to do great! Thanks for all your support.

Love,
heather

Hey now! The pumpkin pie is getting more attention than the engaged couple!!! Enough is enough! Dad was scolded... and he made amends and all is well. But really... FOUR PUMPKIN PIES AND I DIDN'T GET A PIECE????? Wowzee!! (We did give 2 pies away).

Watching Leanna and Nate this weekend was heart-warming! They are so much in love, and so very happy. We are SO VERY HAPPY FOR BOTH OF YOU!!! Nate, you did a great job with the proposal. Almost as good as dad's home-made fortune cookie twenty-eight years ago.

I have to agree with Emily. Watching Leanna try on wedding gowns was much more emotional than I'd ever thought it could be. She was so incredibly beautiful! Amazing that my little girl is getting married! Nate, we're so glad you'll be our first son-in-law!!! You're joining some stiff competition in the in-law department! Heather and Libby are THE BEST DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW a mom could ever dream of. I mean it! You'll be in great company!

Leanna, I'm so very proud of you... and the beautiful woman you've become. June 12th is just around the corner! The next few months are going to fly! Hang on to your hat... I mean veil! :)

I love you both! Mom

GO RYAN!!!! If anyone deserves to knock this test out of the ballpark, it's you! Dad and I are so proud of your hard work. You've done a great job preparing. We so admire your determination and discipline! I know you haven't slept well this week and your stomach is probably in knots... my prayers are with you and Heather. You will do GREAT, son. We are so very proud of you! Love, MOM

P.S. Love the glasses!

Congratulations you two! I am so happy that you guys are getting married. June is a fabulous time for getting married. I agree with Peter, what's with no pictures of the ring? We want to see :)

Love you guys,
Heath

Thanks for the pic Le! Sars- I figured it was M + L because their halloween picture went up as well.
